Even if a person is fortunate enough to be home quite a bit, the amount of attention a lone kitten will demand is likely to occupy more time than the person has available. A pair of kittens will definitely still want to interact with people, but can keep each other occupied. Most cats, regardless of their age, are highly sociable and are truly happier living with other cat companions. This in turn makes them better pets.
Kittens are active at night. A single kitten may awaken you with jumping, pouncing and other hunting behavior. However, two kittens will occupy each other by finding interesting shadows to chase and games to play until they finally tire and fall asleep.
It's normal and appropriate for kittens to "play bite" and wrestle with each other. Without a litter mate or other kitten to play with, a kitten will bite and wrestle with you, which is unacceptable. Even if you allow this behavior from your kitten when it's small, once the kitten matures, your adult cat will have learned these bad habits. If your kitten grows up with another kitten, this negative behavior is minimized.

ADOPTIONS

TINKU- He was rescued with his sister, Chini when he was just about a month old. After staying in foster homes for almost a month, he was sent to my friend Shreya's terrace as I was not able to find home for them. He is an extremely friendly guy and very playful. He loves humans and is a lap cat, means he loves to come and sit in your lap and gets very affectionate.

CHAND- He is around 4 months old handsome male kitten. He was rescued when he was young and in a bad shape. Now, he has recovered and has got shiny black fur. He is very playful and human friendly.

TARA- She is the Diva. Tara is very independant and a beautiful calico (white, ginger and black mixed) kitten and extremely pretty. She loves being on her own and keeps running around.

REX N RIKKI- These two are brother and sister and also seem to have been abandoned at the fish market. Both are around 4 months old and very playful. They stay in a empty locker room and come out when I go to feed them. They eat Drools kitten food mixed with a wetfood pouch and love it.

PRADA/ INI/ MINI/ MYNI- These 2 female siblings were left at the Vile Parle fish market. They seem to be just about 8 weeks old. They eat Whiskas kitten pouch food and also drink Semolac formula from bottle. There were 4 kittens, out of which 2 have died. These 2 are the only ones who survive. Anyone who can give them a little bit love and care can adopt them.
INI, MINI, MYNI- 4kittens, just about a month old were left outside the fish market. I started to look after them as well, when I went to feed Gucci n Prada. Now, they are about 8 weeks old, can eat kitten food mixed with pouch food well. They are active and playful. One of the kittens, Myni has been missing since a few days, so only 3 of them are there for adoption.
Gucci has been missing since Christmas. Prada, Mini, Myni and Ini are still there and looking for loving families to adopt them and give them a life they deserve.

READOPTION

CHEETO- Cheeto was just about a month old when he was rescued. After a week of fostering, he was adopted by Rahul. Since Rahul and his granny stayed close to my house, I was ok visiting them and helping them in whatever way I could. They did not seem like a rich family, but you dont need to spend a lot of money on keeping a cat. When I went to their house with the kitten, I came to know that granny stays in a rented flat as her house has gone for re-development. She stayed on 7th floor, so I had to tell her to keep the windows shut or Cheeto may fall.
Things were great till a week back. Last week, Aaji started calling me saying Cheeto is getting aggressive and is jumping. I visited him and gave deworming and he quitened down. Now, he is around 6-7 months old and dosent like the one room that he is kept in. He needs a little bit space to more around and play. At the same time, Aaji cant spend time with him for playing, which makes him aggressive.
She dosent mind keeping him, but I am not very comfortable. Right now, she will keep him, but tomorrow, she may not be in good health and then it will be a problem. Rahul had not told me that his dad is against pets and wont keep Cheeto if Aaji was sick. So I need a loving family to adopt this handsome chap. He is very loving, but a typical cat with hunting instincts, so I need someone who knows about cats to adopt him.

Dogs and Pups

SOME EXCERPTS FROM A BLOG ON INDIAN DOGS-www.indianpariahdog.blogspot.com
Indian dogs/mongrels are the ideal pets for our Indian conditions. They are hassle free and no less than a pedigree, and do not need high maintanance. They come with the niche of zero looking after.
The pariah, or pi dog is hardy, intelligent, and a survivor. The law of the survival of the fittest is inexorable, and, through the ages, the pi dog has all the qualities needed to survive.
Pick up a pup at the age of about six weeks. Its mother has already started the weaning process by regurgitating food for it - half digested, the young one finds it easier to digest. Take the pup home, deworm it - it is sure to have roundworms if not tapeworms - treat it for ticks and fleas, and give it a good brushing, if not a bath. Feed it regularly, starting with dilute milk and perhaps hard-boiled eggs, chopped up. Later, it will even do well on kitchen scraps. The dull coat will begin to shine, depending on the colour, a warm golden yellow, a deep black, or a flaming apricot-red, the dry skin will become supple, the lifeless eyes will turn a warm, trusting brown as they look up to you.
What have you got for your trouble? A wonderful companion for free. Consider this: if you can shake off the misconception that pi dogs are ugly, you will find they are not. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and many breeds admitted by the Kennel Club look remarkably like the pi - the Basenji and the Canaan dog being two examples. Looks are, after all, only skin deep, so what have they under the skin? Hardihood, for one. As mentioned before, they come from generations of creatures who have fought for survival amid the toughest conditions, and the hardiest have made it. They will thrive on food which softer dogs won't touch. They are remarkably resistant to disease, and when ill, respond very quickly to treatment . I had one which was mauled by a leopard, and recovered, with proper treatment, in eleven days. But more of that later. Intelligence, coupled with courage, is bred into them. They can be taught surprisingly quickly, and pick up new ideas on their own.
As a rule, the Pi's courage is not a heedless, reckless one, but is tempered with caution. It will bark at a suspicious character from a distance, rather than rush in to attack and bite. I, certainly, prefer this behaviour; it is too embarrassing and inconvenient to have friends and casual visitors bitten - a warning is much more satisfactory. Nevertheless, when the master is actually in danger, the dog will risk its own life to defend him.
If you are looking for a loving companion who can also protect your property, you could do a lot worse than choose a pi dog. Love it, look after it, and it will repay you a thousand times over.

if u have any doubts about adopting a female dog, please check my blog- www.straysadopted.blogspot.com.
aarti, greg, rupali, were all interested in adopting a male pup, but all ended up adopting a female pup. they had no problems since the past year, and the dogs are part of their happy family! similarly, chinky, coco, goldie and angel are also doing well in their families with kids.
so people, please dont keep a gender bias in animals also!

ADOPTIONS

Currently, there are no puppies for adoption.

READOPTION
